Makobe's Challenge706 viewsThe Makobe River route was definitely challenging....with many portages (and we were not light), it made for a physically and mentally demanding trip. Nothing like the end of a hard days work, by the fire, to rejuvenate, though!!!!
What an AMAZING route and an INCREDIBLE experience!

French Spring705 viewsThis is a natural spring that flows out of the Limestone. The Ardeche is riddled with these. You can paddle up and collect water, or just drink for the rock.

Winter Camp at Tucker Lake689 viewsWhile camping in the Forest at Tucker Lake, the lowest temperature recorded was -48 degrees. Throw water up in the air and it froze before hitting the snow.
The fishing was good. The food and company was great.
Traditional handmade snowshoes and toboggans were used for snow travel.

Young Hawk688 viewsYoung hawk in fledgling stage - there was 2 of them along the road into the southern access of Obabika Lk. - both still learning to fly. I took 3 pictures and then he flew down the road about 150 yds before landing again.

hey where's the snow?680 viewsearly March, 2007...along track and tower trail in Alqonquin Park...'difficult' conditions due to lack of snow. We chose to stay on the land trails as many creeks, beaver dams, lakes were already wet and too slush for fun pulling. Thats a black plastic sled from Can Tire with haul bars made from white plastic plumbing pipe. Great on twisting, turning hiking trails.
