High water on Ezma Lake589 viewsEven though it is in the middle of August 2008, the lake level is like in spring. The shrubs (meadowsweet) stand still in the water, and many trees along the shore (mostly cedars) have died as they could not tolerate the prolonged immersion.

Backside of the Buckley Dry Fly1403 viewsAfter the tree damaged the Comet, the tent dwellers ran to the Buckley to report in and just missed being hit a second time. The tree was kept from falling further by the branches and the tarp ropes. Storm damage on Manitou Lake, Algonquin Park

Bayfield River, Heading into Lake Huron1174 viewsThis is my grandkid's first canoe season and they love it...however once we reached the end of the government docks up ahead and turned south (left) they became quite nervous, but never said a word...very quiet paddle in the lake.

Lake Huron - Bayfield, ON1179 viewsAfter paddling along the Bayfield River, past Hwy 21 bridge and through Harbour Lights Marnia and out into the depths of Lake Huron. This is what is left of a sunken Steamer that was hauled from Owen Sound and then from Goderich. It is stuck about a half mile from Bayfield beach. The boys were quite nervous on this paddle...they were glad when we went ashore for lunch and a swim.

Public Landing at Dunlop Lake South Shore599 viewsNear Elliott Lake.
The south shore has been sold off for cottage lots, and there is now a public landing about 2/3 down the lake. The road is signed as leading to "Dunlop Shores" and the new parking lot is near holds maybe 30 cars. There is a (mediocre) camp site right at the portage leading to Ten Mile Lake.
